With the increasing demand for flexible office desks and the rise of home office setups, a completely new type of product was needed. The Bicult is the first desktop luminaire to combine direct and indirect light output. While the glare-free indirect lighting illuminates the entire office by directing light upwards, the direct component ensures optimal illumination at the desk.

To achieve this versatile all-in-one lighting solution in a compact form factor, state-of-the-art technologies such as thin-film optics, Bluetooth Low Energy Mesh, and an intuitive app for light control were integrated.

The combination of smart components and the dedicated app forms the foundation of a truly human-centric lighting solution. Through the app, users can personalize their lighting preferences— adjusting light color, direction, and dimming levels. Alternatively, the Bicult can operate in fully automatic mode, utilizing its built-in circadian rhythm function while light and motion sensors dynamically adjust brightness to the required level.
